We showcase the best Spanish outdoor design in Las Vegas
From 26th to 28th April, we are heading to the United States to showcase some of our most iconic collections at the country's largest hospitality design fair HD Expo + Conference, the flagship event that brings together designers, interior designers and hotel chains from all over the world. On this occasion, we have backing from ICEX España Exportación e Inversiones, which is facilitating the Spanish participation. The fair will take place at the emblematic Mandalay Bay Convention Center in this tourist mecca of the American West.

Our story dates back 100 years with a master craftsman who became a benchmark for craftsmanship. Three generations later, we have turned his legacy into an international brand, synonymous with top-class design, research and know-how. With roughly 300 products created by great national and international designers, our pieces can be found in projects all over the world, from Australia to Mexico, via Dubai, London, Paris and Miami. Major international hotel chains such as Four Seasons, W, Shangri-La, The Langham or Hyatt Regency are equipped with POINT furniture.

Our commitment to design is still part of our DNA as well as our experience in manufacturing the pieces and the respect for craftsmanship; each braided sofa requires forty hours of meticulous craftsmanship, each chair, no less than six. Innovation, at the heart of the creative process, has allowed us to develop new materials, even patenting our own fibres and researching the materials of the future. As a result, in 2019 we were awarded the National Design Award.

Sustainability has been at the heart of what we do for decades. Therefore, as well as responsible manufacturing, the use of recyclable materials and wood from sustainably managed forests, our headquarters is energy self-sufficient and powered by solar energy.

POINT is linked to the essence of the Mediterranean, the quality of life and the art of living.

What are we showcasing in Las Vegas?

We will showcase eight of our most emblematic collections, some of which have won several international awards.

_ Summer
The Summer collection, comprising a chair and an armchair with armrests for the dining room, is a new approach to the traditional chair: universal, simple, functional and timeless, now seen from the point of view of refinement, technical precision and sensuality. "The decorative effect here comes from the texture of the braiding, which pays homage to craftsmanship. So, it is extremely well-manufactured (handmade), very well-designed and straightforward", explains its designer, Christophe Pillet. It is made of aluminium combined with rope and comes in multiple colours. "This is an almost vague, classic, universal piece, which we only slightly redesigned to give it a modern twist".

_ Long Island
"My goal with Long Island was to make it as desirable, as detailed in design and as well-finished as an indoor piece of furniture", explains designer, Christophe Pillet, adding, "I sought to create the feeling that these pieces have always been around". Straight shapes and fine lines set out the shape of this modular collection of outdoor sofas. Eminently versatile, the pieces can be used as an armchair, a sofa or a chaise longue, adapting to each space. Its straightforward design, aspires, as Pillet admits, "to offer universal elegance and a high level of comfort". This collection strives to become a modern classic and comprises thirteen pieces that are complemented by three tables with an aluminium structure.

 _ City
This new collection has been awarded its first international award. The FRENCH DESIGN Awards recently awarded the designer Christophe Pillet for this collection created for POINT. "When I designed this collection, my aim was to depict, in a contemporary way, a Mediterranean art of living, unrelated to time. It is a universe where the sun and the earth come together", explained the French designer about City. A powder-coated aluminium structure is the starting point that gives rise to each one of the pieces in this collection. It also has teak wood armrests from sustainably managed forests and comfortable and soft cushions. City comprises an armchair, a two-seater and three-seater sofa. They all exude classicism and elegance and the cushions can be customised in terms of patterns and colours.

_ Lis
The key to these two table legs, developed by POINT Studio, was starting from a seemingly straightforward design that embodies POINT's philosophy. They are versatile pieces whose simple shapes fit perfectly into any environment, helping to achieve contemporary and elegant atmospheres. On a technical level, we have worked on developing the bases with an exact diameter that ensures that the table is perfectly stable.

 _ Hamp
To achieve this collection's neo-minimalist aesthetic, Francesc Rifé worked on a highly technical process. The teak wood used (from sustainable forests with selective logging) has been turned (as if it were a metal tube) and bent, creating a piece brimming with expressiveness. Rifé came up with a wooden structure that, by means of a tensioned technical fabric, forms the base and backrest on which the cushions rest. The result is pieces with generous dimensions.

 _ Weave
Since it was launched in 2017, this collection of soft and relaxed lines has won an array of international awards such as the International Interior Design Association's 2018 Global Excellence Awards, the Gold Medal at the Ibero-American Biennial CIDI of Interior Design, Design and Landscape Architecture or the ADCV GOLD Award for Outdoor Furniture in 2017. Inspired by the knotted nests of berry-weaver birds, Vicent Martínez designed this collection to be as functional as it is emotional. Meticulously finished, each piece is created by hand, knotting one fibre at a time. It comprises a total of twenty-seven elements, from swings to tables, sunbeds, sofas or chairs, all of them with a structure that envelops, protects and relaxes. The latest additions to the collection are a dining armchair, a round rope table base and a versatile planter that can also be used as a pouf or table. All the pieces have a powder-coated aluminium structure and the characteristic rope braiding. The possibilities for combining them are endless thanks to their finishes in taupe, cream and black.

_ Paralel
Designed by Gabriel Teixidó, it is set to become a classic. As he himself explains, "its characteristic element, wood, is a living material that connects well with people and provides a touch of warmth". Sturdy, yet light, his chairs, armchairs, sofas, armchairs and tables combine teak from Indonesia (from selective logging forests) and synthetic rope. There are a total of fourteen pieces as well as a sunbed, a side table and an extendable table. Created for gardens, terraces or porches, they can also be used indoors. "It is a human collection that fits perfectly into natural environments", says Teixidó.

 _ Havana
"The Caribbean, the streets of Cuba, afternoons spent drinking rum, relaxation and warmth inspired this piece", explains Alfonso Gallego, designer of the Havana dining armchair. Contrast is the key to this piece made from a lacquered aluminium structure, covered with Shintotex braiding, a high-strength recyclable fibre developed by POINT. This piece's sinuous shapes are designed to be welcoming and, as in the best photos, black and white takes centre stage in the braiding, creating patterns brimming with rhythm.
