NATURAL AGING & ESSENTIAL CARE

Over time, teak furniture exposed to sun, rain, or humidity takes on a grayish hue. This change is due to a natural surface oxidation process that does not affect the strength or quality of the wood, but rather acts as a protective layer.

During the first few months, it is normal for the natural oils present in teak to rise to the surface. This phenomenon can cause stains if the furniture is placed on light-colored porous floors or if light-colored cushions are used before the process stabilizes. These oils, however, are key to the durability of teak and an indicator of its high quality.

Due to its oily nature, it is not recommended to apply varnishes, paints, or additional oils to teak. These products do not adhere properly and can cause dark stains or mold.
