Heritage, a nod to the DNA of the brand.
"Two national design awards come together" could be the beginning of this story. But there is much more to it than that. Respect for tradition, innovation, know-how, and a penchant for finding beauty in simplicity. For this reason, Mario Ruiz (National Design Award 2016) presents his first collection for POINT (National Design Award 2019). With this collection, Heritage, we return to our essence, the origins of our story, to our work with weaving... and an assertion that less is more, with a genuinely Mediterranean look.

Memory allows us to travel to the beginning, in the 1920s, where the essence, and the original, can be found. Mario Ruiz has developed his collections with us based on a deep analysis of our history and our most emblematic designs. At Heritage, Ruiz takes our famous hand weaving as a reference, adapting traditional materials and formats to more current, fluid, and softer media. At POINT we have already celebrated a centenary since the founding of our company.

"I have an image of the artisans in the 1920s, in Alicante, in the workshop founded by José Pons Pedro. I imagine them working with wicker and creating POINT’s first chairs, decorative furniture, and lamps. The soul of the company was born here. A century later, it continues to inspire", says the designer.

Heritage aims to become a new classic. With its aesthetic and technique that pays homage to the craftsmanship that has been developed over centuries on the different shores of the Mediterranean, this is a collection that has the ability to adapt with the same ease to a contemporary environment, just as it is at home in a more traditional one.

The collection thus recalls the style of iconic pieces through two proposals: Heritage Lineal and Heritage Contour, two designs that can be combined with each other. Heritage Lineal has a more conservative style, with straight shapes and balanced geometries, whilst the Heritage Contour design opts for a softer, more organic silhouette, creating a harmonious but more informal piece.

All the pieces are made from an aluminium structure woven with an outer body of technical fibre outer body. The two lines of the collection are available in multiple versions:; sofas, armchairs, chairs, stools, side tables, dining tables, sunbeds, and daybeds
